Pemaquid was named by the Indians... and means 'long finger'. We are one of the longerst fingers on the coast. New Harbor close by offers scenic tours and daily boat excursions to Monhegan Island... seen ten miles off shore from the lighthouse.
We are 45 minutes from Boothbay's shops... one hour from Camden's scenic harbor... an hour from Rockland (annual Lobster Festival)... and twenty minutes from Damariscotta (famous for its' annual Oyster Festival). Area activities include kayaking, art studios, auctions and antiquing, sitting on the rocks and most importantly... eating lobster~! We have perfected the art of 'getting away from it all~!'
If you ask for directions... you might be told you 'can't get they'a from here'... So, we have provided a map for your convenience.
This is where Pemaquid Point is located. (from a high-level view)...
...and from a little closer.
